Starcraft Junkie

I went to BlizzCon in 07 specifically for the inevitable beta key to be given to us. I assumed that it would be for the newly announced SCII at the time. But now it's for the new WoW expansion. LAME! In any case, I guess this means I'll have to get rid of it at WoW fanboy value, similar to the Murloc costume (that things payed back the cost of BlizzCon and then some, lol). Just thought I'd share it with anyone else who held out hope like I did.

Blizzard’s World Wide Invitational 2008 swag bag included a very promising item - a beta key for an unknown Blizzard game. Blizzard’s fans split into two camps at this point - the hopeless, lifelesss WoW addicts which claimed the beta key to be for World of WarCraft’s Wrath of the Lich King expansion, and the awesome, intelligent and handsome StarCraft fans who have decreed that the key is a clear sign that the StarCraft 2 beta is near.

 
Today, Blizzard has officially announced that he beta key is for Wrath of the Lich King and not StarCraft 2.

We have some information to share regarding the beta codes received by those who attended the 2008 Worldwide Invitational or the 2007 BlizzCon. These codes are going to be used for the Wrath of the Lich King beta test.

Despite the fact that StarCraft 2 is not as close as some might have imagined due to the recently received key, hopefully fans will not have to wait for WWI 09 to get their hands on the beta.

From BlizzCon, exclusive photographs of huge groups of units--Archons + Colossus destroying Terran base, Battlecruisers destroying Protoss base, Protoss Carriers (thought not to be in the game), huge group of Motherships. Plus shots of menus, single-player tutorials, unit stats, nuke exploding, and the StarCraft board game.

StarcraftTwo.com does a pretty good wrap up of all the information regarding Diablo 3 being made to date. Lots of info floating around including the books being made in the diablo world, the interview discussions, possible movie being made, blizzard having more then 1 dev team and of course, there has to be some type of announcement at blizzcon!

Blizzard updated their BlizzCon 2007 page today revealing that all attendees will receive a "beta key for an upcoming Blizzard title." Hmm...which title could that be?
